# PORTS REFORM AND CAPACITY BUILDING

#### Course Introduction:

This course is designed to enlarge thinking and facilitate wider development and thereby assisting delegates in decision making. It will examine the actions and outcomes, theories and practice of the Management of Change. It will also focus on the skills required to manage the process of reform and to provide effective management.

The Course will benefit middle to senior management staff who will be actively involved in Port and Terminal Operations.

#### Training Outcomes:

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

- appreciate the various Port Concession Models
- contribute to Port reform and understand the scope and elements of the process
- use their acquired skills to manage change and leadership to implement reforms
- prepare and implement action plans that will facilitate wider development in their area of responsibility
- create an organisation that constantly evolves
- develop strategies to improve Port performance
- understand the key characteristics of high performing teams
- plan, implement and monitor a performance and reward system
